What Cairn collects, and what we do with it.

Cairn is a Kubernetes-native Kafka incident auto-remediation agent. This page describes the personal data the service picks up today — the authentication email and hashed password, content pasted into the /demo console, the waitlist email you submit, and the basic server logs the application produces. We collect only what appears below; nothing else is gathered in the background.

What we collect

The four categories below cover everything Cairn picks up today. Each one documents the storage surface and the moment it is created.

  • Authentication data

When you create an account (via better-auth), we store the email address you submit and a hashed copy of your password. We do not store passwords in plaintext. Authentication data is used only to recognise your account across sessions.

  • Log excerpts pasted into /demo

Anything you paste into the /demo console is sent to our API for analysis. Each analysis is persisted as a Report row so the page can render the result, and so you can return to a previous analysis during your session. Treat /demo paste content as confidential to you — do not paste secrets you would not want stored.

  • Waitlist email

If you join the waitlist, we store the email you submitted in a Waitlist row. It is used to invite you to the closed beta and to share Helm chart install steps. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time.

  • Basic server logs

Our application server emits standard request logs (timestamp, route, response code, anonymised client IP). Logs are retained for a short rolling window and are used for debugging and abuse detection.

How we use it

Authentication data authenticates you and re-identifies your account across sessions. /demo paste content is sent to the analysis endpoint and persisted as a Report row so the page can render the result and so you can return to a previous analysis during your session. Waitlist emails are used to invite you to the private beta, share Helm install steps, and reply if you ask us a question. Server logs are used to keep the service healthy and to detect abuse.

That is the full scope. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third-party data brokers — see the next section.

No third-party sellers · no data brokers

Cairn does not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer personal data to third-party data brokers, advertising networks, or marketing platforms. The only third parties that can read your data are the infrastructure providers that host the application and the database, and the email service that delivers messages you have asked to receive (for example a waitlist reply).
